Wintering

The A Cappella Chamber Choir is proud to present our Fall 2023 concert entitled “Wintering”. Our concert features music and poetry which will move us from Remembrance Day, St Cecilia’s Day (Patron Saint of Music, Nov 19) through Advent, Christmas, and Wassailing on Twelfth Night.

The concert features a wide variety of repertoire, spanning from Canadiana : Gordon Lightfoot’s “Song for a Winter’s Night” and Eleanor Daley’s “In Remembrance”, Classic Christmas selections from Bach, Willcocks and Rutter, as well as some modern favourites such as “Christmas Time is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, and “Snow” from White Christmas. You’ll also perhaps meet some new modern favourites, such as the haunting “Norwegian Lullaby” (Gjendines Båldnat) or Will Todd’s “My Lord has Come”.

Our programme will also feature a solo by Chatham Tenor Andrew Derynck, a piano solo from Pianist Adrian Little, several pieces featuring chorister solos, as well as pieces which feature the Low Voices and Treble Voices.

Tickets are $20 when purchased in advance from choristers or through our website. Tickets at the door (not pre-ordered) will be $25. Anyone 18 years and under may attend for free.

“Wintering” will be presented Saturday, November 18th at 2pm at Kincardine United Church and Sunday, November 19th, 2pm, Southampton United Church.
